Day 22 Afternoon

After lunch we arrived at Damoy Point. Amongst us one group was kayak adventure group, another one snow shoe hike group and the rest of us free to do whatever we wanted. I decided to go for hiking up to the top of Damoy Point with fellow expeditioners. This would be my second hiking for the day. It’s more difficult when you’ve all the Antarctica gear on and carrying additional camera gear. For this reason I decided not to carry any heavy cameras. It was an extra ordinary feeling once reached the top of Damoy Point,

the beauty of the landscape leave me speechless. It was time to start descending. On the way back to the shore I saw Argentinian emergency hut and British survey hut, but unfortunately the nesting penguins prevented me for having a look inside. As I descended I saw the penguin rookeries. Gentoo penguins spend their time closer to the shore. They have their own routes-penguin highways. They stick to their routes, even if people are close by. Penguins like to steal stones from each other’s nest.  The humoristic penguins gave me many laughs. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
