Day 21 Afternoon

Our plan A for the afternoon, Orne Harbor, was completely blocked with ice, so we cruised further south to Paradise Bay and had an evening landing at Almirante Brown research station. As we made our way further south, the landscape began to change, the towering glaciers and jagged ice floes giving way to the serene beauty of Paradise Bay. The water here was a deep, rich blue, contrasting starkly with the brilliant white of the surrounding ice. We cruised along, taking in the breath-taking views and listening to the eerie calls of the seabirds overhead. As the sun began to dip below the horizon, we approached the Almirante Brown research station, nestled amongst the glaciers at the foot of the bay.
