Day 1, Barbados

My wife & I went on a holiday in Caribbean Islands. We wanted to explore & experience as many islands as possible during this holiday. So, booked one, two weeks cruising holiday. We had two more family members travelling with us and it was their first cruising holiday. In march we flew from Gatwick to Barbados. We were picked up from the airport by the tour operator and taken to Bridgetown cruise port where we boarded the ship. After all the formalities the ship sailed at night towards Tobago.

Day 2, Tobago

In the morning we arrived Scarborough, cruise ship terminal of Tobago. After breakfast we went out to hire a taxi. Our driver & guide was a woman. She was very good, took to as many places as possible and gave a history lesson of the area, people etc. We had only limited time but enough to have a reasonably good glimpse of the area. We returned by early evening an hour before the ship started sailing again. This island is good for spending time on the beach and water sports in addition to many other activities.

Day 3, Guadeloupe

After night time cruising we arrived at Pointe a Pitre, cruise port of Guadeloupe the following morning. We decided to have lazy day, so, after breakfast headed for beach. The beach was clean, not over crowded and quite nice with fine sand. further text to be added.

Day 4, Dominica

Again, after night time cruising we arrived Roseau, cruise port of Dominica in the morning. For the second time we decided to have a relaxed day and spend time on a beach. further text to be added.

Day 5, St. Lucia

As there were lots to see in a short time immediately after breakfast, we went ashore and hired a taxi. The driver worked as a guide too. The driver was very polite & knowledgeable. Our first stop was banana plantation, next stop was The Pitons & finally Sulphur Springs.

We were glad that we hired a car. Sulphur Springs calls itself the world’s only “drive-in volcano”. One can park up, soak in a mud bath, admire the boiling, steaming crater. However, the whole place reeks of rotten eggs. Though we didn’t fancy soaking in mud bath.

The Pitons, a pair of jagged volcanic peaks that planes must skirt around to touch down at the island’s international airport.

Day 6, Martinique

We arrived in the morning after a night’s cruising. Due to limited time we couldn’t explore this beautiful island, instead decided to have another lazy day. This island is an overseas region of France. further text to be added.
